In 2009, Toyota, Nissan and Honda’s Sales is Down in the World, but Up in China

Recently, Toyota, Nissan and Honda have released their worldwide sales data in 2009. Although the three auto giants in China achieved different degrees of growth, but due to over-reliance on North America, Europe and Japan auto markets, all of the Japanese Big Auto Three declined in auto sales.
The data released by Toyota show that in 2009 Toyota sold 7.813 million cars, down 12.9%, and was lower than the previous year's sales for 2 consecutive years. In 2008, although Toyota's global sales declined, but it sales achieved 8.92 million. In 2009, In China auto market, Toyota sold 0.709 million cars, up 121%. In addition to China and other new auto markets in 2009, Toyota in North America, Japan and Europe auto markets, the sales were lower, which is the main reason why Toyota's auto sales in 2009 dropped 1.1 million than in 2008.
In 2009, Honda global auto sales were 3.392 million cars, down 10% year on year. In the world's major regional auto markets, Honda in Europe, Middle East and Africa auto markets declined highest, reaching 30%. In North America auto market, Honda's auto sales were down 20%. China auto market was the only growth market in Honda’s major regional auto markets. In China auto market, Honda sold 0.5762 million cars in 2009, up 22.5% year on year.
In 2009, Nissan and Honda sales decline was similar to 9.4%, and Nissan sold 3.358 million cars in the world auto market. Nissan auto sales in Japan, the United States and Europe auto market, were down 11.6%, 19.1% and 17.2% respectively. Only in the China auto market, Nissan auto sales were up 38.7% year on year, reaching 0.756 million cars
In Japan's five major automobile companies, apart from Toyota and Honda, the rest have built auto alliances with foreign auto companies or been held. Nissan was held by Renault and formed the Renault - Nissan global alliance. Mazda was held by Ford, and Suzuki was held by Volkswagen earlier this year, and has formed a Volkswagen - Suzuki alliance.

onda Motor to Build the 5th Auto Plant in China
on January 20, 2010, Honda Motor announced that it will spend 1.15 billion CNY to build a new joint venture auto plant with China's auto giant, DFM. This will be Honda Motor's 5th auto plant in China
.
It is reported that the new auto plant will be located at a place about 4 km away from its existing auto plant in Wuhan city, China. The new plant will be planned to put into production for the second half year of 2012, and the annual auto output will be 60,000 cars. By then, Honda's annual output in China will reach about 710,000 cars. Honda plans to produce Honda Civic and other models in the new plant, and is also considering producing hybrid auto models.
In 2009, Honda Motor sold 579,600 new cars in China, up 22% over the previous year. In 2010, Honda's goal is up 10%, and reaches 632,200 new cars.
