1. beef/lamb stew of bread

It is one of the most famous snacks in Xi’an.AKA pita bread soaked in lamb soup.The pita is served to you first which you personally break into small pieces of your liking. And then you give it to the chef who places them in a wok of steaming broth, rice noodles and lamb. And there is also other varies material in it, such as green onion, garlic, coriander and so on.

2. woodencages mirror cake

Wooden cages mirror cake is a kind of Xi’an’s traditional dessert. Small wooden molds are filled with ground stick rice and steamed. After the powder becomes soft and gooey, it’s pulled out and covered in sugar, nuts and a delicious rose flavored jam. The feature is white color, small and round, rather like a small mirror, hence it’s called ‘mirror cake’.

This is a special kind of dumplings. They have delicious tender meat, soft skin, exquisite shape, rich soup and oil but not greasy.

4. Chinese-style hamburgers

Chinese-style hamburger, roujiamo, is a Xi’an specialty. Actually it is a wonderful combination of the two foods: Dried juice meat and steamed white bread. Topping it off with some meat juicy and fatty bits makes it a great snack in Xi’an. Many Chinese and foreigners like it so much.

5. Shaanxi Liangpi

Here comes one of the most famous triple combo of street food in Xi’an. Liangpi is a dish of cold noodles in a source that hits every possible flavour. The natives always have Liangpi with Chinese hamburger and local orange soda.

6. Biangbiang noodles (thick noodles)

This is the ultra signature noodle dish of Xi’an. Hand stretched wide biangbiang noodles covered with different sources. The chewy hand pulled noodles are juicy and flavourous which is really worth a try.

7. Meat skewers

Lamb skewers, squid, beef, whatever you want. Covered it in spices and roasted over hot coals. Any trip to China, you get to try these lamb kebabs. It’s really juicy, tender, delicious and a little bit spicy.
