1、The United States is called "country on wheels,"

American always feel that they can hardly move an inch without cars.The U.S is regional wide and people live Scattered. Working, shopping, going out is always tens of kilometers or even hundreds of kilometers.Owning to the car, the concept of distance seems to be desalinated.

美国被称做“轮子上的国家”，在美国生活过的人都会感到，没有汽车简直寸步难行。

美国地域宽广，居住分散，无论上班、购物，动辄走出去几十公里甚至几百公里，全凭汽车。一上车，距离的概念似乎就淡漠了。

1、History of the car

The car was invented by two Germans ,Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz. Gottlieb Daimler was from Stuttgart in Germany, he wanted to design a fast running engine for the land, water and air to power a variety of means of transport. In order to achieve this goal，Daimler invested all of his incomes. To improve the power of a single engine, Daimler changed traditional coal gas fuel to liquid fuel and used a new heat pipe combustion devices, Daimler's four-stroke internal combustion engine was patented in 1886.

At the same time, in Mannheim, Carl Benz also completed his masterpiece

of industrial technology. Benz has also made a four-stroke internal combustion engine, but what the difference is that he used the electric ignition device, the

In 1879, German engineer Carl. Benzene Heights (Kart Benz), for the first time successfully tested a pilot two-stroke engines. In October 1883 , he founded the “benzene Heights Rhine gas companies and engine plant”.

In Mannheim he made the first benzene Heights patent motor vehicle, the car was 3 cars, using a two-stroke 0.9 hp single cylinder gasoline engine, this car has had some basic features of modern cars, such as spark ignition(火花点火), water cooling loop（水冷循环）, steel frame（钢管车架）, leaf spring suspension（钢板弹簧悬架）, rear wheel drive front wheel steering and brake handle（后轮驱动前轮转向和制动手把） and so on.

For these reasons, it is generally regarded as the car the first year of 1886, Benzene Heights and Daimler are revered as the originator of the automobile industry.

2、Development of the car

Henry Ford (1863 —1 947 ), the U.S. automotive engineers and entrepreneurs, the founder of Ford Motor Company. He is also the world's first man who use assembly line to produce cars. This new mode of production make cars become a mass product, it was not only the revolution of the industrial production, but also influenced modern society and culture, so there are some social theorists called this period of economic and social history as "Fordism."

一、Phase one: 1900 -1915 years. 1893 Henry Ford invented the world's first gasoline-powered car. After 7 years, Auto begin mass production. People came into the auto age. In 1909, Ford Model T automobile create a new era for car manufacturers .
