charge用法

（1）.用作名词，表示“负责”、“管理”，通常为不可数名词；表示“收费”，是可数名词，通常(但不一定)用复数形式；表示“控告”，是可数名词。如：

Your charges are too high. 你收费太贵了。

What is the charge in the hotel? / What are the charges in the hotel? 这旅馆收费多少?

Doctors have charge of the sick people. 医生负责照顾病人。

Soon he will take charge of the department. 他很快会来负责管理这个部门。

例如

Mr Green is in charge of this factory. 格林先生管理这家工厂。

This factory is in the charge of Mr Green.这家工厂由格林先生负责管理。

The ticket is free of charge.这票是免费的。

They made a charge against the boss. 他们控告老板。

He was arrested on a charge of murder. 他因谋杀罪被逮捕。

【温馨提示】 比较 ：in the charge of  表被动，而in charge of  表主动.

(2). 用作动词，无论是表示“收(费)”、“索(价)”还是“控告”等，都是及物动词。用法上注意：表示“收(费)”，通常与介词 for连用,构成短语charge sb. For sth.；而表示“指控”通常与介词 with 连用,构成 charge sb. With sth.。如:

He charged me 100 dollars for this coat. 这件外套他要我一百美元。

The driver was charged with speeding. 司机被控超速驾车。

【同义词辨析1】 charge  / pay /cost动词用法区别：

 (1).charge用作动词时,主语是人,而不能是物 ，意思是“要价”例如：

 He charged two dollars for half a dozen eggs.半打鸡蛋他要价两美元. 
How much do you charge for mending a pair of shoes? 你要多少钱补双鞋 
(2).cost 用作动词时,主语必须是物或各种服务事项,而不能是人。cost的宾语应当是钱、劳力生命等。 例如：

Compiling a dictionary costs much time and labor。编辑字典很费时间和精力。 
Carelessness in driving may cost your life。驾驶疏忽可能使你付出生命的代价 

(3) pay 主语是人， 意思是“支付”，宾语可以是人也可以是物。例如：
    He paid ten yuan for the book. 他花去19元钱买这本书。

You have to pay for what you did. 你得为自己所做的一切付出代价。

【同义词辨析2】charge, cost, price ,fee名词用法区别：

（1）       charge 通常指因服务所索取的费用。 例如：

The medical service is free of charge in our school。在我们学校医疗免费。

（2）       cost 通常用于涉及许多价格的场合；也常用来指"成本"或"造价"。  例如：

（3）      price 一般指价格。 例如：

（4）       fee 通常指付给律师、医生或家庭教师的酬金或交给学校等团体的费用。 例如

The doctor's fee is $ 5 a visit。这个医生的出诊费每次五美元。 
School fees are high in England。 英国学费很高。
